Now, maybe the jagoff will keep the politics off this blog!

The Huffington Post wants to create local editions, and Chicago is a test market.

As frequently as weekly, I’ll be writing blog/columns for them.

You can see my first effort here.

I have no idea how good a platform this will be, but I already got a nice e-mail from a guy who said, “I don't know you, but when I read your column I had the odd sensation that I was reading something I had just told someone about myself.”

I think that’s a version of the ultimate writer’s complement, as my dad always described it: “Murray, that’s what I woulda said if I coulda laid tongue to it.”

Don't despair too much. Palin isn't swaying significant votes. She will bring out some of the flesh-eating zombies on the right, of course.

Of course, I have a back up plan. I can become Danish overnight.
