taco veloz and duk's? you frequent some nasty places, my friend.

Bohdan, I won't defend Duk's, where you wouldn't be 100% surprised to find a tooth in your Polish.

But take it back regarding El Taco Veloz. That place is clean, and well-lighted, cheerful and yummy. They have Mexican karaoke night on Fridays (when they aren't showing boxing). And the other day when there was a long wait for takeout, the woman offered me a beer, for free.

TAKE IT BACK.

Never thought about it this way before. Way to teach me something new, David.

Actually, Eileen, I set out to simply write a love letter to my favorite businesses, and the corporate angle occurred to me in the writing.

So I taught me something, too, proving once again what old Larry Ragan used to say about the relationship between thinking and writing:

"How do I know what I think until I write it?"

Words don't come until you start writing.

Now if only the large car mechanic shops stopped small shops from making me still feel like a douchebag for not knowing what a Knee Assembly is. Or if Geek Squad did the same with freelance computer technicians.

Oh, Tyler, you made me laugh with that one, but that's a whole other kettle of fish. Look for another post on that next week.

Looked for it, found it. Loved it, responded.
