I'll always do free speaking too because I enjoy helping others and there are plenty of organizations that can not afford it. So the part about the fee not being negotiable is wrong because it is.

I'm still a bit amazed how much interest my little post generated yesterday.

@C.C. Thanks for responding. I think the source of that interest is just that these arrangements are so ambiguous that people are constantly insulting, and being insulted, and so everyone has strong feelings.
