Two things struck me about his speech:
1) Story telling is incredibly powerful. Even when the story isn't that interesting, you'll keep listening to find out what happens next.
2) The man is amazing at never glancing at notes or a teleprompter. Seriously. I think it's part of his magic. The bullshit just comes stream of consciousness from his brain to his lips with complete conviction and rarely a mispoken word. You have to admire that.

I don't have to like him, but he has always been able to tell a story and connect with people. I watched and loved the story. I had to remind myself later that he left out all the horrors. Just a great storyteller - meaning wouldn't you like to be his grandchild and ask him to tell you a story?
