It's great to hear about Jean!

I was all of 26 and living in Houston when I received a phone call one day from a recruiter in Chicago named Jean Cardwell, who wanted to talk to me about an energy communications job in St. Louis. I was a speechwriter for Shell Oil at the time. I took the job - and it lasted all of one week. The company moved me to a job where speechwriting was close to 75% of the work for an up-and-coming executive who needed a speechwriter. And that was pretty much most of the story for the rest of my career.
