Poet Wallace Stevens worked in the insurance industry for his entire life. He even turned down a professorship at Yale arranged by friends who were appalled at him working for a corporation. (Then again, he was making more money as an insurance attorney than he ever could at Yale, or from poetry.)

Yes; I wonder, did Stevens ever write about his work?
